Patricia Kunz

Patricia Anne Kunz, age 83, of St. Francis, Minnesota died on June 19th in Minnesota surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 2, 1940, in Mansfield, Ohio to Harry and Donna Jean (Taylor) Brown, she had been a resident of Mansfield the majority of her life; moving to Minnesota June of 2014 to be nearer to her daughter. A 1958 graduate of Madison High School, she was  retired from Dr. Randall Hester’s dental practice where she was a dental assistant and office manager. She also worked at the Ceramic Cottage with her mom; teaching classes and creating one of a kind pieces.  She loved working with her hands and enjoyed painting flowers and scenery, crafts, sewing and ceramics. She’s remembered for her sharp wit, sense of humor and her love of chocolate. 

Survivors include her husband, Joseph F. Kunz, Jr., whom she wed June 14, 1958; two daughters, Tammy (Steve) Denney of Indianapolis, IN and Kathy (Jeff) Anderson of Anoka, MN; four grandchildren, Nicholas Denney, and Joseph, Michael and William Anderson; and her half-brother, James (Barbara) VanTilburg of Mansfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Kunz; step-father, Merle VanTilburg; and a sister, Loretta Jean Colegrove.

Family and friends are invited to visitation at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, July 21,  2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.. A memorial service will immediately follow visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Evans officiating. Interment will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter.

  1. Dear Joe, I was sad to read you had lost your dear wife. You had explained to me at our Class Reunion that you had left Ganges due to Pat’s illness. It looks like we both have been married about the same time. Ours is July of 1958. I always think of you when we pass your Church on the way to Country Fabrics.
