James W. Liston

James W. Liston, 78, of Mansfield passed away July 11, 2023 at Avita Ontario Hospital.

Jim was born July 19, 1944 in Ashland to James L. and Catherine Rose Liston who preceded him in death. Jim was a 1963 graduate of St. Peter’s High School then became a barber serving the Mansfield area for over 40 years.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Peter’s Catholic Church and Mansfield Liederkranz, being active in a variety of areas with all organizations.  Jim enjoyed all of his volunteering along with working with his many plants.

Survivors include his cousins Maryann (Bill) Boaden, Frances Lietenberger and Joseph W. Gfrer.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00am Saturday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 54 S. Mulberry Street.  Friends may visit one hour prior at the church.  Burial will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH 44902 to help the family with Jim’s funeral expenses, or to St. Peter’s Church or the Knights of Columbus Council #687.
