Garrett Bazley

Garrett Bryce Bazley, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully passed away on June 12, 2023, at the OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was 32 years old.

Born on November 6, 1990, in Mansfield, Ohio, Garrett was the son of Brian and Laurie (Earnest) Bazley. He grew up in Mansfield and attended Lexington High School, graduating with the class of 2009. After attending college, Garrett embarked on a career as a server, working at the Applebee’s near State Route 13 as well as at Old Bag of Nails in Westerville, which perfectly fit with his social and outgoing nature.

Garrett was a vibrant individual with a passion for sports, particularly the Cleveland Indians and the Browns as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams and engaging in lively discussions about the latest game. His enthusiasm for sports was contagious, and he brought joy to those around him with his unwavering loyalty.

Garrett’s warm and caring nature endeared him to all who knew him. He had a special bond with his family, and his presence will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving parents, Laurie and Brian Bazley of Mansfield; his brother Gavyn (Alisha) Bazley; his sister Gabriella Bazley; his nephews Paxton and Bronson Bazley; his maternal grandmother Dixie Earnest of Mansfield; his aunt Robin and Jim Klenk of Mansfield; his uncle Steve and Lorraine Earnest of Ashland, uncle Terry and Kathy Bazley of Pickerington, uncle Trent and Margo Bazley of Oklahoma and uncle Paul Picking of Mansfield; and his cousins Shane Klenk, Morgan Klenk, MacKenzie Klenk, Courtney Earnest, Jillian Earnest, Madeline Bazley and Julia Bazley.

Garrett was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Frederick Earnest, earlier this year; paternal grandparents Cecil and Thelma Bazley; paternal aunt Vickie Lynn (Bazley) Picking. Their spirits are now reunited in eternal peace.
