MANSFIELD: Linda Ellen Griebling, age 84, of Mansfield passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 in Primrose Retirement Community in Mansfield, just 3 days after her 84th birthday.
She was born June 2, 1939 in Port Huron, Michigan, to Ardo and Marion (Hunter) Whisler. Linda received her bachelor’s degree in education from Findlay College and earned her master’s from The Ohio State University. She taught mostly 5th grade in Shelby Schools Dowds Elementary for 15 years.
She enjoyed crafts, but was particularly skilled in needlework. Linda was a frequent contributor and blue ribbon winner in cross stitch at the Richland County Fair. She also loved reading anything from Amish stories to mysteries.
Linda is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Janet and Thomas Van Valey of Paw Paw, Michigan; Gary Griebling of Mansfield, a niece, cousins and extended family members.
A graveside service will be held in honor of Linda Friday, June 9, 2023 at 1 pm in Lexington Cemetery. Celebrant Dave Roberts will officiate.
