Beverly J. MaGee

Beverly Jane MaGee, 86, of Mansfield passed away April 10, 2023 at UH Samaritan Hospital with her family by her side.

Bev was born July 23, 1936 in Bucyrus to Hillyeard and Laura Like Giesige but had lived in the Mansfield area for most of her life.  She was a graduate of Mansfield St. Peter’s and an active member of St. Peter’s Church.  Bev started her career with Westinghouse but retired after working for Gorman Rupp for many years.  She had a great sense of humor and this was shown as she and her sister performed many comedy skits for different organizations in the area.  She was famous for her deviled eggs at all the family functions and she enjoyed her many traveling adventures with her sister.  She loved her trips to the casinos and also enjoyed her occasional martini.

Survivors include her sister Rosalie M. Cusic; many nieces and nephews who adored her from the Okuly, Giesige and Cusic families.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald H. MaGee, sister Margie A. Okuly and brother Gerald R. Giesige.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10am Monday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 60 S. Mulberry Street.  Burial will follow at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Gentiva Hospice of Ashland at https://www.gentivahs.com/about/donate/

  1. To the family of Beverly. Bev and I had been friends for many years. We worked together at Westinghouse, but continued our friendship long after we left the company. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I just now saw this obituary. Beverly was a real friend and she was a diamond if ever there was one. I really hope she didn’t suffer. You all have my deepest sympathy.

    Sincerely,

    Lynne Riley
