LEXINGTON — The Ashland boys and girls bowling squads swept the Ohio Cardinal Conference championship matches on Saturday afternoon at Lex Lanes.

The Arrows also claimed both Coach-of-the-Year honors, with Michele Baker earning the accolade for the girls, and Mark Dreibelbis grabbing the boys award.

Ashland’s boys rolled to the crown behind the exploits of OCC Bowler of the Year Avery Brown, who scored a 748 series. Parker Grissinger’s 690 series was second on the squad, with Zion Caudill (678), and Aiden Brown (617) chipping into the winning tally. The Arrows’ Baker score was 1,249. 

Lexington finished runner-up at 4,408, with Wooster third (4,234), Mount Vernon fourth (3,868), and Mansfield Senior fifth (3,754).

The Ashland girls topped the field with 4,066 pins, followed by Wooster at 3,366. Mount Vernon was third at 3,099 pins, Lexington fourth (3,011), and Mansfield Senior fifth (2,453).

Jada Baker paced the Arrows with a 616 series, Emma Barger had a 584, Kelsey Baker (526), Makayla Dreibelbis (511) and Takiah McKinney (503) rounded out the title team’s performance. Ashland’s Baker score was 1,326.

Wooster’s Abbie Leiendecker was the Bowler of the Year and rolled a 728 series.

The conference also selected its All-OCC bowling teams.

FIRST TEAM: Avery Brown (Ashland), Parker Grissinger (Ashland), Zion Caudill (Ashland), Cam Barker (Lexington), Dawson Gaynor (Wooster), Aiden Compton (Lexington), Trevor Bell (Mount Vernon).

SECOND TEAM: Max Martin (Wooster), Ryan Johnson (Lexington), Justin Parks (Wooster), Aiden Brown (Ashland), Max Casey (Lexington).

THIRD TEAM: Za-Kayvon Franklin (Mansfield Senior), Isaiah Davis (Mansfield Senior), Chayse Whitesel (Lexington), Seth Opatz (Wooster), Calvin Winter (Wooster).

GIRLS 

FIRST TEAM: Abbie Leiendecker (Wooster), Jada Baker (Ashland), Emma Barger (Ashland), Kelsey Baker (Ashland), Katrina Wells (Mount Vernon), Makayla Dreibelbis (Ashland).

SECOND TEAM: Takiah McKinney (Ashland), Jace Kyle (Mount Vernon), Cassie Hiner (Wooster), Maggie Kingman (Lexington), Chelsea King (Mount Vernon).

THIRD TEAM: Abby Shewan (Lexington), Alyssa Tokos (Lexington), Rebecca Stinchcomb (Wooster), Izzy Moore (Mount Vernon), Alexandria Rush (Mansfield Senior).
