MADISON TOWNSHIP — Speedway has purchased two properties near its 1394 Ashland Road location in Madison Township since the beginning of 2019, according to paperwork filed at the Richland County Auditor’s Office.
Most recently, the gas station purchased the property at 1376 Ashland Road from Ronald Strine, trustee of the Jerry Strine Revocable Trust for $44,000.Â
The 0.44 acre property features a two-bedroom ranch with a one-car, attached garage. It is positioned alongside another property that also transferred to Speedway in recent months.Â
According to the Richland County auditor’s website, Speedway has also purchased 1378 Ashland Road for $125,000. This property appears to include at least two buildings — a small house and a business. Â
Madison Township’s zoning inspector and code enforcement officer Jason E. Luce was not available for comment. A Speedway spokesperson declined to speak about the property on the record with Richland Source.Â
In March, the gas station and store, owned by Marathon Petroleum based in Findlay, also purchased the house at 25 Brookwood Way South for $49,500 from David Haring, the successor trustee of the Mary Lou Donley Trust. This property is adjacent to its 1321 Park Ave. West location in Mansfield. Â
Since then, no permits have been filed yet for the Mansfield Brookwood Way South property, said Marc Milliron, the city of Mansfield’s manager of codes and permits.
