MADISON TOWNSHIP — A white woman, wearing a black hooded-sweatshirt and black mask covering her face up to her eyes, robbed Huntington Bank on Ashland Road at approximately 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

“Deputies responded and checked the area for a suspect vehicle that had left south bound on Ashland Road,” said Major Joe Masi, spokesman for the department.

He described the vehicle as a silver Dodge four-door with partial registration — G_K141. The car could also have two occupants.

He said a teller described the alleged robber as wearing sunglasses and blue jeans.

“The female suspect asked the teller for money and provided her own bag as the bank teller handed over money from the drawer. The suspect then left the bank in a silver Dodge,” Masi said. “No other customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery and no one was hurt.

“An undisclosed amount of money was taken by the suspect.”

The Federal Bureau of Intelligence arrived to the scene to assist in the investigation. Local law enforcement agencies were also notified.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s office at 419-524-2412 or the local FBI office.
