MANSFIELD — Jared Mansfield Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution presented three scholarship awards of $300 each to Alexis Reynolds, Julia Newberry and Justin Taylor at their chapter meeting on Friday, June 9.

Alexis Reynolds is a 2017 graduate of Madison Comprehensive High School. Alexis was very active in high school and athletic activities, including cross-country, swimming, choir, Student Council, Skills USA, OCC Leadership and National Honor Society.

She was also involved in 4-H, her church and the Mansfield Waves Swim team and held various officers in the different organizations. Alexis is the daughter of Chad and Heather Reynolds and is enrolled at NCSC in Bioscience for the fall of 2017.

Julia Newberry is a student nurse at Ashland University’s Dwight Schar College of Nursing College. Julia is in the schools Honors Program, an EMT for Mansfield Ambulance Service, an A.U.G.I.V.S. volunteer and also on a recreational swim team.

Julia is the daughter of Jodi Newberry and will be beginning her second year at the Ashland University’s Dwight Schar College of Nursing College.

Justin Taylor is in his 3rd year of a 4 year program to receive a Doctorate of Nursing Practice and also be a Family Nurse Practitioner. Justin is currently a Charge Nurse, Cardiovascular ICU, OhioHealth, Mansfield Hospital. He is currently one of two students on the Dean Student Advisory Council for Ashland University College of Nursing.

Justin could not attend the meeting as he is taking his 10th trip, this time to the island nation of Vanuatu with Medical Missions Outreach (MMO) a ministry providing free medical care. Justin is the son of Stephanie Kozak of Polk, Ohio and also works as a Dietary Assistant at Kingston Healthcare in Ashland and mentors new staff at Kingston.
