Michael Herman Harris, 19, of Galion passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 18, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus after a short term battle with cancer.

He was born August 18, 1995 in Galion and was the son of Philip and Jodi (Hancock) Harris both of Galion.

Michael was a 2014 graduate of Galion High School. In high school, he played baseball for all four years and participated in show tunes, choir and theater. He was a member of the Galion First Church of the Nazarene and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #630 of Galion. Michael had a love for music, played several instruments, enjoyed singing with his sisters and loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by sisters, Lindsay Harris of Manhatten, NY, and Elizabeth Harris at home; grandparents, Amy Harris Fox of Galion, Michael (Peggy) Hancock of Bucyrus; aunts, Pauline (Archie) Eaton of Orlando, Kathi (Neal) Wallace of Edwardsville, ILL, Nova Harris of Alton, ILL, and Juli (Kevin) Lashley of Bowling Green; six cousins and his girlfriend Samantha Gates of Galion.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday, February 20, 2015 at Galion First Church of the Nazarene, 777 Fairview Ave. Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015, with Rev. Dr. Rick McCartney officiating. Interment will be at Mansfield Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the Galion First Church of the Nazarene.
