Lexington varsity boys basketball team headed south for a Saturday night matchup with the Fredericktown Freddies. Lexington made the most of the visit and picked up a 38 point victory, 73-35.

The Freddies hung around for the first quarter ending behind just 16-13. Lexington pulled away at the half, 33-23. 

Then the Minutemen removed all doubt. Lexington put up 40 second half points. Fredericktown put up 10 in the third and scored just 2 in the fourth.

For team stats, Lexington cleaned up on both the boards, 30-17 and turnovers, 13-7. The Minutemen converted 13 turnovers into 20 points.

Fredericktown’s Michael Miller led his team with 17 points. Kirk Manns followed with 9 points.

For Lexington scorers, Matt Barkett led with 18 points. Trent Richwine followed with 12 points. Jonah Yaussy added 10 points. Head coach Scott Hamilton rotated the length of his bench and gained 30 points from his reserves; all but two of Lexington’s players scored. For the game, the Minutemen averaged 1.52 points per possession.
