The Richland County Fair kicked off on Sunday and residents from across the county came to enjoy the pleasant, sunny weather animals and exhibits.

“I like to come and look at the animals in the barns when I go to the fair and the weather is just perfect out today,” said Peggy Chitwood of Mansfield. Cindy Velic of Mansfield made a trip over to the fair but didn’t have a set agenda planned for the day.

“I actually just saw that the fair was beginning today and wanted to come see everything. The weather is very nice today which has made it enjoyable,” said Velic.

Deniece Jeffries of Mansfield made a stop at the fair for some treats. “The food is the main reason for coming to the fair and the entrance fee today is reasonably priced. It’s not too crowded today which makes it more pleasant,” said Jeffries.

Garrett Combs will be spending his entire week at the fair. “We are at the fair for alpacas. My sister shows alpacas and I showed today. I got two second place ribbons today.”

The fair continues throughout the week until August 10.
