On June 28, at approximately 9:21 p.m., the METRICH Enforcement Unit assisted by the Mansfield Police Department conducted a Criminal Patrol detail, which resulted in two search warrants being served.
Seized during the first search warrant was approximately 40 individual packets of heroin and a vehicle. While investigating further, detectives from the METRICH Enforcement Unit gathered more intelligence information which led to detectives drafting another search warrant for a different location.
At approximately 3:59 a.m., on June 29, the METRICH Enforcement Unit, assisted by the Allied Special Operations Response Team (ASORT), the Mansfield Police Department, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol K9 unit, executed the second search warrant.
Seized during this search warrant were 210 individual packets of heroin, a large amount of prescription medication and over $5,000 in cash. Charges will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutors Office and detectives are still conducting further investigations as a result of these two search warrants.
METRICH is a ten county multi-jurisdictional drug task force consisting of law enforcement agencies in Ashland, Crawford, Hancock, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca and Wyandot Counties.
