McDermott Northwest raced to a big lead and never looked back in a 53-18 win over Latham Western for an Ohio girls basketball victory at Mcdermott Northwest High on Feb. 8.

The first quarter gave McDermott Northwest a 15-8 lead over Latham Western.

The Mohawks’ offense roared in front for a 28-12 lead over the Indians at the intermission.

McDermott Northwest breathed fire to a 47-15 lead heading into the final quarter.

The Mohawks got the better of the final-quarter scoring, finishing the game in style with a 6-3 edge.

In recent action on Feb. 3, McDermott Northwest faced off against Portsmouth Sciotoville East and Latham Western took on Willow Wood Symmes Valley on Feb. 1 at Latham Western High School.
