Mary M. Whitesel

Mary M. Whitesel, born March 7, 1943 in Mansfield, Ohio, left to be with her husband of 59 years on June 2, 2023 at the age of 80 years old.

She is survived by her sons, Don Whitesel and Jim Whitesel, and daughter, Tami (Whitesel) Frazier. Along with 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry J. Whitesel and daughter, Sherry (Whitesel) Vipperman.

Mary spent her whole life as a hardworking, caring and devoted person to friends and family.  She was a role model to her children, teaching them how to always think of others.   Her compassionate heart led her to do so many kind things for many people.

Mary worked hard to maintain a beautiful home for her family, while owning and operating “The Variety Shop” and later “The Mulberry Place”.

She enjoyed spending time with family, going for drives, eating out, listening to the Gaither Vocal band, going thrifting, and taking her dog, Scooter, to the park.

Mary will be greatly missed and her children are very thankful for all the years she dedicated to her family and for the honor of calling her, “mom”.

A private memorial gathering for family will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Ohio Bird Sanctuary, 3774 Orweiler Rd., Mansfield, OH 44903.

Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Whitesel family.
