Ontario: Eric J. Ellis, 74, of Ontario, Ohio went to be with the Lord Saturday March 9, 2024 at Danbury Assisted Living following an extended illness.

The son of John and Louise (Laws) Ellis, Eric was born June 29th, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio and graduated from Belmont High School in 1967. He continued his education at Milligan College in Tennessee and earned his Master’s Degree at Ashland University.

Eric worked for United Telephone/Sprint and later owned a business consulting company. He retired in 2020. Eric had many interests and hobbies including American History and cheering on the OSU Buckeyes as well as the Cleveland Indians.

Eric was grace-filled, servant-oriented, a master teacher, and could fill a room with laughter. His connection with people was Christ-like, and he could make you feel like the only person in the room. He always brought a sincerity of faith and love to all he met.
Eric attended New Life Church of Christ in Bellville where he served as an elder and adult Sunday school teacher.

Eric is survived by his wife, Linda; son Jon (Summer), son Dan (Emiline), daughter Brittany (John); grandchildren Ethan, Cadence, Olivia, Bremmen, Norah, and Rhys; brother Allen; brother-in-law Gary; sister-in-law Becky.

Along with his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Gerald and Lillian Faust; his sisters-in-law Pat Faust and Terri Ellis.

Funeral Services will be Saturday March 16, 2024 at 12 noon at New Life Church of Christ, 195 West Durbin Avenue, Bellville, where visitation will be from 10 am – 12 noon. Pastor Steve Kistler will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to New Life Church of Christ may be made through the funeral home.
