MADISON TOWNSHIP — Winners have been announced in the Madison Comprehensive High School Career Tech cosmetology program’s Skills USA Competition conducted recently at the school.

Kara Nichol was first in cosmetology, followed by Emily Brandt in second and Sophia Parsons in third.

In esthetics, Emma Speelman was first, followed by Draven Anderson and Angela Williams.

Amaris Taylor won the nail care competition, followed by Ava Huff in second. There was a tie for third between Natalie Lewis and Alivia Szymczak.

Results were announced by Melinda Williams, the Madison Adult Career Center cosmetology coordinator/lead instructor.

Sixteen students competed in the event. Winners advance to regional competition in Lima in February. Regional winners advance to state-level competition in Columbus with the possibility of moving on to nationals.

Williams said all students who complete the Career Tech program will be licensed cosmetologists.
