Robert Richard Au, age 91, of Bellville, passed away early Thursday morning, January 11, 2024, at Arbors of Stow.

He was born July 21, 1932, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Bertha (Beer) and Roy Au. He proudly served in the US Army from 1950-1952 during the Korean War. On October 11, 1952, he married Monna M. Young. Bob was a mechanic throughout his adult life and worked at the Mansfield bus garage for years, and he retired from Borden Dairy. Mechanically gifted, he was skilled in truck and auto repairs and helped many family and friends with their car repairs. He would help anybody and work on anything.

Bob is survived by his wife of 71 years, Monna M. Au; three children, Allen (Shirley) Au, Thomas (Tonya) Au and Marjorie (Dennis) Riggans; seven grandchildren, Brandie, Mitchell, Adam, Robert, Amanda, Brian and Matthew; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and other cherished family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Au.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Bellville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.
