John William Conley, Sr., 74, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.


John was born to Earnest Paul and Bertha (Conn) Conley on September 5, 1948, in Olive Hill, Carter County, Kentucky. John was a member of Bethel Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed being at church and spending time with his family. He was always praying for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.


John is survived by his wife, Anna Ruth (Martin) Conley; children, John Conley, Jr. of Mansfield and Pamela (Ottie) McKenzie of Bellville; stepdaughter, Nancy Duff of Mansfield; grandchildren, Brooke (Kevin) Peller of Indiana and Steven T. Hawk of Indiana; step-grandson, J.T. Teel of Kentucky; great-granddaughter, Ellie Quinn; sisters, Dora Gearhart of Mansfield, Mayme Inman of Mansfield, Carol Sue (Mick) Pyers of Mansfield, Joyce Hawk of Mansfield; and his little dog, Shaggy.


John was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Paul and Bertha (Conn) Conley; and sister, Earnestine Brewster.


Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2023, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio 44905. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Hill, Jr. and Pastor Jay Hill officiating.
